Wrinkle Reduction with Neuromodulators
At Colorado Laser Spa we offer two neuromodulators, Botox Cosmetic® and Xeomin® to correct moderate to deep lines and wrinkles. Both work the in the same fashion, to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in the upper face. Botox® and Xeomin® are essentially a botulinum toxin type A protein serum used by qualified providers to treat and prevent wrinkles on the face caused by underlying muscle contraction. It is one of the best non-surgical forms of facial rejuvenation available today and is capable of producing dramatic results in a short amount of time.

This quick, easy and minimally invasive treatment helps relax muscles, which in turn minimizes your wrinkles and lines to refresh your skin. Botox® or Xeomin® will be gently injected into targeted areas, such as crows feet, between the eyes, forehead, and neck. Botox® is a great way to naturally refresh your look.
Botox works by partially blocking the impulses from the nerve to the facial muscles. The result is that the underlying facial muscles relax and the skin begins to smooth out. Untreated muscles continue to function, thus maintaining normal facial expression. This is, however, only temporary. Scientific studies have proven that the treated muscles regain full function within 3 to 6 months.
Yes, both Botox Cosmetic® and Xeomin® are FDA approved. Boto®x has been approved by the FDA as a safe and effective therapy drug since 1989 and has been used effectively as such for over 20 years. The most common side effect is bruising, which is rare. Botox® and Xeomin® should not be used in pregnant women and individuals with neurological conditions.
The best candidates for Botox® and Xeomin® are men and women concerned with facial aging, typically in the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes. Botox is often used in combination with dermal fillers to provide full facial rejuvenation without surgery. Younger patients often begin getting dermal fillers and/or Botox®/Xeomin® injections as a way to prevent or stave off signs of aging before they worsen. Non-surgical browlifts are also popular using Botox to provide a subtle lift for all adult patients.
Dermal Fillers
As we age, collagen loss can lead to what many describe as a “droopy face.” Dermal Fillers are an excellent solution to add back subtle volume to the face. At Colorado Laser Spa we offer following dermal filler products.
- Juvederm ® XC
- Voluma XC®
- Volbella XC®
- Vollure®
- Belotero®
- Radiesse®
Dermal fillers, such as these, can add volume to the mid-face, smooth wrinkles and plump lips to restore a more youthful appearance to your face. The dermal fillers we use in our med spa are formulated with lidocaine to improve your comfort during treatment.
The best candidates for dermal fillers, are those with mild to moderate signs of aging or a desire to augment a certain area of the face, such as the lips or cheeks. Younger patients often begin getting dermal filler and/or botox injections as a way to prevent or stave off signs of aging before they worsen.

It is recommended that you avoid any medications that can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS), for about a week prior to receiving treatment in order to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding.
Upon arrival at our office, numbing cream is applied once your injector has determined you are a candidate for Juvederm, Radiesse or Belotero and has determined which formulation is right for you. We let that sit for about 20-30 minutes so any pain at the injection site is minimized. The injection itself usually takes about 15 minutes.
There is no recovery time post procedure and most patients return to work or resume their day following their appointment. You may experience some tenderness, temporary redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, and bumps at the injections sites. These typically clear up on their own in 7 days or less. We do provide an ice pack for you to take with you and place on the injection site(s) for a brief period. It is typically recommended to avoid strenuous exercise, extended exposure to heat, and alcohol consumption for the remainder of the day if possible.
